- Do you offer a quantity or high ticket item discount?
Yes! If you will be listing 10 or more items, you qualify for a quantity discount. Also, if your item sells for over $999.00 there is a cap on the Trading Assistant fee. See Fee Chart or call (248-724-3319) or email for details.
- What are the benefits and advantages of using you to list my items?
There are enormous benefits and many advantages to using an experienced, registered Trading Assistant to sell your items on eBay. Here are some of them:
I have (100%) positive eBay feedback. Buyers will bid on items being listed by member with a trustworthy reputation.
I have been an eBay member since 1997 (seller since 2002 - a buyer since 1997). Buyers prefer doing business with a member who has a long-standing Ebay member history.
I have the knowledge and resources on how to get the most bids and highest price for seller's items.
I use state of the art, clear digital pictures, a major key in bringing in more bids at higher final prices.
I have established Pay Pal merchant account and Visa/MasterCard/Discover Card merchant accounts so that credit cards can be accepted (securely) on line. This promotes more bids at higher amounts and faster payment.
I have established line of credit with eBay so there is no listing limit.
I offer a $500 buyer protection to bidders who use Pay Pal. This is just like insurance and gives bidders the confidence to bid high & pay electronically.
I run an ebay market appraisal check through a special service prior to listing item to assist seller in determining beginning auction price.
A link to the auction(s) is provided so that seller may view auction(s) at anytime during and after the auction.
A print out of auction page showing final bid price will be furnished to the seller without internet access.
I am available by phone (248-724-3319) and email 7 days a week to answer your questions and provide you with auction updates.
But the very best benefit of all is it's a quick, easy, no hassle way for you to sell your items and put cash in your pocket! Simply drop off your item (pick ups can also be arranged), allow eBay members (currently 66 million US) to bid against each other for it, and then you receive a check.
- Who determines the opening bid price?
Seller sets starting price for each auction. Tip: Keep in mind that you want people to start the bidding. Probably one of the biggest drawbacks a seller can make is listing an item at too high an opening bid. This discourages potential bidders from tracking the auction or placing a bid and they move onto a similar item. This being said however, do not choose a starting price for less than you are willing to accept for the item in case it only receives one bid.
- When do I pay the listing fee?
Option one: A $12.50 deposit is due prior to auction for each item listed up to 10 items. Remaining fees are deducted from seller's payment after auction. $12.50 deposit is credited towards final trading assistant fee.
Option two: There are no upfront fees if you list your item at a starting bid of $0.99 with no reserve. Tip: This is a great way to get lots of people to track and bid on your item! Item must have an eBay market value of $35 or more. Fees are deducted from seller's payment after auction.
- How do I get my items to you?
Seller is responsible for delivering the items to be auctioned to me before auction. Pick ups can also be arranged for disabled and Senior Citizens. Items should be cleaned prior to drop off. Items will be inspected, discussed, signed for and possibly photographed at that time. Seller is also responsible for picking up unsold items within 10 days of auction end. Or you may choose to have unsold items delivered back to you for a fee.
- How long does it take to list my items after I deliver them to you?
Please allow 2 days for market appraisal (depending on number of items). After seller has determined starting price, please allow 3-5 days for items to be listed.
- How long does the auction run?
Auctions run for 7 days from start to finish unless otherwise specified by seller. eBay offers a 3 day, 5 day and 10 day option. eBay charges extra for the 10 day option only.
- How and when are items shipped to buyer?
How: Items are shipped FedEx Ground insured with delivery confirmation unless otherwise specified. Items more than 150 lbs. may be shipped via freight.
When: Item is not shipped until buyer's payment has been received and cleared by bank. After payment has cleared item is shipped within 24 hours (Mon.-Fri.). Checks require 7-10 days to clear, electronic payments and money orders 1 day. Most bidders pay electronically.
- Who pays for shipping costs and boxing materials?
Buyer pays for shipping, insurance and delivery confirmation.
I am responsible for providing all packaging materials.
- What if buyer receives the item damaged?
I use extreme care in packaging your item so that it is received by the buyer safely. However, should postal loss or damage occur during transit, Seller is paid for sale the same as a transaction of an undamaged item. Since all items are shipped insured, FedEx is responsible for reimbursing the buyer for the full cost of the item. Trading Assistant handles the transaction (filing claim) with Post Office to assist buyer in obtaining a refund.
- When and how do I get paid?
When: I pays you 5 - 7 days after customer receives item (money back/feedback period). On line delivery confirmation from FedEx shows date buyer received item. If positive feedback is received prior to completion of the money back period seller will be paid that week.
How: Payment to seller is paid by check once per week and will be mailed to seller or may be picked up by seller if requested.
- What if my item doesn't sell?
Chances of your item selling on eBay are likely depending on the item, its condition and the opening bid price. If the item does not sell (no bids), there is a flat rate Trading Assistant fee of $12.50 plus eBay's listing fee with the exception of vehicles. Seller may have item relisted up to two consecutive times at eBay listing fee only. When your item sells standard fees apply.
- What if the high bidder doesn't pay for my item?
Payment from buyer is required within 3 -7 days from auction end (3 days for Pay Pal, 7 days for land mail). If high bidder does not pay within this time frame (plus a short grace period) item will be offered to the second highest bidder. My fee is based on that selling price.
If there wasn't a second bidder (or the second bidder declines) then the item will be relisted. I do not charge seller to relist item that is non-pay. Standard fees apply when item is sold after relisting.
- What if the buyer wants to return item?
Trading Assistant offers Buyers a 5-day conditional money back guarantee. (This encourages bids on your items.) If buyer wants to return item for a valid reason (e.g. item doesn't work, item is other than described, etc.) they may do so. After return of item, I send buyer a full refund, including original shipping/insurance charges. (Buyer pays insured shipping for the items return.)
If I made description error, item will be relisted with an accurate description at no additional charge to Seller. If Seller made description error, Seller pays $18.50 plus shipping for the original listing and again if the Seller wishes to relist item with an accurate description.
- What if my item is damaged while in your possession?
I take the utmost care of your items while they are at my place of business. There has never been an instance of damage. However, with the exception of 'acts of nature', should something happen to your item while in my possession, you will be compensated at the lowest eBay appraisal value of item or the opening bid price (whichever is less). Seller will be reimbursed any listing fees paid in advance. The item then becomes my property.
- Are there any risks involved in doing business over the internet?
eBay, Pay Pal and I take every precaution to make the trading experience a safe one. Electronic payments are only accepted from Buyers with a Confirmed Address and who are Seller Protection eligible. Payments made by Personal Check have a 10 day holding period before shipment is made. In addition to this, all items are shipped with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation. These precautions significantly reduce but do not eliminate the chance of receiving fraudulent payments, insufficient funds or Buyer chargeback claims. In the unlikely event of a chargeback, every attempt to recover funds and item will be made by me. If funds and/or item cannot be recovered, the loss is that of the Seller.
- I still have questions.
I want you to be comfortable before having your items listed. I am available by phone (248-724-3319) and by email, before, during and after your auctions.
